Own A Piece Of Black Vintage Comic History!!!
Mark Hunt was the first Black Investigator to be featured in a comic strip and one of the first Black heroes to appear in a comic strip.
Mark Hunt did not start with the new color comic section in the Pittsburgh Courier, but shortly thereafter it was added, sometime in 1950. Mark Hunt outlived the color section, demoted to black and white, and ran until October 22, 1955.
The color comic section was produced by the Smith-Mann Syndicate and only appeared in the Pittsburgh Courier, one of the biggest Black newspapers in the country at that time.
Mark Hunt was written by by Edd Ashe.
